Egg Nog French Toast

As most traditional french toast recipes begin with a custard aggregate of eggs, milk or cream, sugar and a few spices, I figured the satisfactory way to use egg nog, essentially a custard itself, became to maintain it absolutely easy and notice what came about. I whisked collectively a few egg nog, some eggs for binding (since there aren’t genuinely that many eggs in business egg nog), and a pinch of cinnamon and a piece of salt. From there, all it took was a few butter, a hot griddle, and a loaf of day vintage french bread. a few tweaks to the recipe and it become a winner, oldsters. My husband and taste tester in chief declared it a winner and that i now have some other cause to buy egg nog!

Egg Nog French Toast

Egg Nog French ToastA few notes about the recipe: I locate that all french toast recipes paintings best with day vintage bread. i love to apply french bread for this recipe, although brioche is also amazing. in case you don’t have any day vintage bread lying around, you could briefly toast up your sliced bread inside the oven at two hundred tiers for about 10-12 mins and it's going to paintings simply as well. I did also try making it with the almond milk egg nog. I liked it a lot, but it’s in reality no longer as rich or creamy as this version. if you’re dairy free even though, it’s a remarkable alternative. talking of dairy, be generous with the butter to your griddle. you may use a cooking spray in case you need, however honestly, it’s just so a great deal better with butter. And sooner or later, when it comes to toppings, real maple syrup is superb. So is our Bourbon Vanilla Whipped Cream.
